Unreal Engine 5 Virtual Production — Pixomondo’s Virtual Production Certification Course Work
Overview:
As part of Pixomondo’s Virtual Production certification courses, I created two Unreal Engine 5 virtual sets over the course of 8 weeks. Each scene was built for real-time use on LED volumes, blending cinematic quality with optimized performance.
What I Did:
- Built cinematic virtual sets from scratch with an emphasis on worldbuilding and environment storytelling
- Designed lighting setups using Lumen for dynamic real-time rendering
- Led look development using modular materials and custom shaders
- Optimized scene performance using Nanite, HLOD systems, and level streaming
- Integrated and customized assets from Quixel Megascans and Substance Painter
- Created and animated sequences using Unreal Engine’s Sequencer
- Used Maxon C4D and 3ds Max for modeling, UV, and asset prep
Tools Used:
Unreal Engine 5 · Quixel Megascans · Substance Painter · Maxon Cinema 4D · 3ds Max · Photoshop
Results:
Delivered two cinematic virtual sets optimized for LED stage workflows—balancing visual fidelity and performance within a tight 8-week timeline.
