The Brief

Jon M. Chu and Justin Bieber’s team set out to create a concert tour that felt cinematic, immersive, and emotionally powerful — not just a concert but a visual journey worthy of the big screen.

The Challenge

Design and direct original visuals for the Believe World Tour that could seamlessly blend live footage, 3D animation, and cinematic storytelling — all mapped to massive LED screens on stage and documented in a feature-length film.

The Solution

Director Jon M. Chu brought a strong cinematic vision to the project — blending emotional storytelling with large-scale spectacle. I worked closely with Jon and his team to translate that vision to the stage, directing the video content team to craft a visual arc that matched the live performance’s tone, energy, and narrative.

Using tools like Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, and Final Cut Pro, we developed custom motion graphics, editorial sequences, and 3D animations mapped to massive LED surfaces. My team worked onsite during rehearsals and traveled with the tour for its first four shows, ensuring every visual cue integrated perfectly with choreography, lighting, and staging.

This tour experience later became the feature-length film Believe, directed by Jon M. Chu. It extended the visual world we created for the stage into theaters worldwide.

The Impact

The Believe World Tour set a new standard for integrating cinematic storytelling into live music experiences. The visual content we created enhanced the concert’s emotional arc and elevated Justin Bieber’s stage presence — transforming the show into a cohesive multimedia narrative that resonated with global audiences.

Our work contributed directly to the tour’s critical and commercial success and was immortalized in the Believe documentary film, bringing our stage visuals to an even broader audience.
