Justin Bieber
Visual Direction for Believe Tour & Feature Film
Overview:
Directed by Jon M. Chu, the Believe World Tour set out to be more than a concert — it was conceived as a cinematic, emotionally immersive experience. The goal was to create a visual journey that played out across massive LED screens and would later extend into a feature-length film.
What I Did:
-
Collaborated closely with Jon M. Chu and the creative team to translate a cinematic vision to the live stage
-
Directed the video content team in developing a narrative-driven visual arc for the tour
-
Created original motion graphics, editorial sequences, and 3D animations mapped to LED stage design
-
Worked onsite during rehearsals and the first four tour stops to ensure seamless integration with choreography, lighting, and stage direction
Tools Used:
Cinema 4D · After Effects · Final Cut Pro
Results:
The visuals elevated Bieber’s live performance into a cohesive multimedia experience, enhancing emotional arcs and deepening audience connection. Our work became central to the Believe documentary film, expanding the reach of the visuals beyond the stage and into theaters worldwide. The project demonstrated the impact of tightly integrated design and direction across both live and cinematic formats — setting a new bar for music tour storytelling.
